Dr. Kevin Nieman, Ph.D., LMFT is the founder and director of Nexus Matters, a high-impact personal development and leadership consulting practice dedicated to emotional growth, identity formation, and long-term transformation. With a rare blend of clinical depth, strategic insight, and faith-centered wisdom, Dr. Nieman helps individuals, marriages, executives, CEOs, and professional athletes break through emotional barriers, build resilient internal frameworks, and operate from clarity and purpose.
Dr. Nieman began his academic journey at Harding University, earning a bachelor’s in Business Management and a master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy. He later completed his doctorate in Marriage & Family Therapy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, specializing in systems theory, trauma, differentiation, and relational development.
He is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, an Oklahoma Board-Approved Supervisor, and is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Sex Therapist through the Sexual Health Alliance, and Certified Integrative Trauma Coach.
In addition to Nexus Matters, Dr. Nieman is also the founder and director of Cornerstone Christian Therapy & Wellness in Tulsa, Oklahoma—an integrative counseling and wellness center dedicated to trauma healing, emotional health, and faith-informed mental wellness.
Through Nexus Matters, Dr. Nieman integrates his clinical expertise with his business background to coach high-capacity individuals, leaders, and organizations seeking deeper emotional intelligence, identity clarity, and sustainable personal development. His work centers on differentiation, trauma integration, spiritual identity, emotional maturity, and holistic transformation.
Two core beliefs guide Dr. Nieman’s work:

Deidra Nickel
Deidra Nickel, LPC-S is a Nexus Matters practitioner and senior therapist whose work centers on identity formation, personal development, and helping individuals grow into the healthiest versions of themselves. With a rare blend of clinical expertise, business leadership experience, and faith-centered grounding, Deidra guides clients through deep internal work that integrates emotional regulation, somatic awareness, and spiritual identity.
Before entering the counseling field, Deidra spent 15 years in the business world, gaining firsthand insight into leadership dynamics, organizational pressure, team systems, and the unique emotional challenges facing professionals. This background allows her to bridge personal development with practical, real-world application—making her work especially valuable to high-capacity clients, leaders, and those navigating career transitions or identity barriers.
Deidra holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Northeastern State University and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Nazarene University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and LPC Supervisor and has served as a therapist at Cornerstone Christian Therapy & Wellness for more than 11 years. She is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), bringing trauma-informed depth to her work.
At Nexus Matters, Deidra specializes in helping clients understand their “why”—the internal motivations, systems, and somatic responses that shape behavior, emotion, and identity. She is passionate about helping people clarify their God-image, uncover the truth of who they are in Christ, and build emotional resilience and grounded identity from the inside out.
Deidra believes every person is fearfully and wonderfully made, and her work reflects a deep commitment to honoring the dignity, worth, and potential in every client.
